Just over four years ago I bought this little RV. I was so excited. It was going to be my home for the next two years. I have learned a lot since I moved in. My brother taught me a lot about the technical side. I learned watching him and his wife about using space creatively.
About a year ago my tub cracked. I talked to some people, a variety of people, who thought it might be a fiberglass tub, so I used a fiberglass repair kit. My first time to use such a thing and it's good I was not being graded on aesthetics! After a while it collected moisture between the plastic and the fiberglass fibers. Off with it's head!!! So I go back to trying to fix it. The folks at the orange box store suggested a hard plastic epoxy. I was oh so hopeful! I sanded the fiberglass fibers away and after the tub was dry applied the epoxy. By now I have two cracks that are about 4-6 inches long. I lost all hope when I step out of the shower into a puddle of water on more than one occasion. My hope went down the drain.
I talked to a couple of neighbors about my ailment. One of them works in construction and had this heavy duty tape. it's supposed to be stronger than duct tape and he assures me it will work in my tub. He gives me two rolls. With dampened hopes I clean up the cracks and apply the tape. On the first attempt it did not stick in the moisture. I tried again and used more tape since I have so much of it. The tape didn't work either.
Apart from the frustration of stepping out of the shower into a puddle of water I don't want water to weaken the floor underneath the tub. I begin having visions of falling through the tub! I do have alternatives and have been using them, but they are less than ideal in the cold weather we have been experiencing.
I realize I am ready for a change after four years of small spaces
