Death

How does one continue to escape death? It's inevitable at some time, but many of us prefer to delay it. The week of Spring Break my computer crashed. I was working feverishly on something and all the sudden I get this blue screen with white writing. My blood pressure started to rise and my eyes got big. I'm sure there were some not so kind four letter words escaped my mouth. The screen said something about there being a critical error and there was a physical dump of memory to prevent further damage. Someone get me a doctor stat! Stat I say!!! A physical dump of memory...like a person's last breath?!!!!

I was informed this screen is commonly referred to as the Blue Screen of Death! What a tragic term! It's Spring Break and I'm in the throes of graduate school, this can't be happening now. Like you can choose when to die? My computer has become like a very necessary appendage, like my thumb!

I decided to take the computer to the computer geeks on campus. They've fixed my computer before, did a good job and it was cheap. Over the next few weeks it meant seven 3 hour trips to campus to get the computer doctors to see about my computer. It gets to depressing to think about all that I could have done with those 21 hours!!

I thought I was on the home stretch when I had no computer trouble for a week, then wham! After a long hard day testing I was unwinding to a movie and there it was again, death knocking on my door!! Maybe the computer docs saved it, we shall see. I have an online test to complete. Murphy's Law would say that's when it will crash.

Doctor Doctor, give me the news......
