There are a variety of people who live in an RV Park for a variety of reasons. One of those groups of people are contract laborers. About two years ago there was a group of friends that were contract laborers at the same site living together. I had met them in passing and 2 of the 3 men were married. The men were living together and their wives were back home, wherever that may have been.
One night around 10:30 I got a knock on the door. I had just turned out all the lights. I asked who it was and they responded. When I asked what he wanted he replied, "Sugar, for in the morning." I naively thought, "Well, maybe for his coffee." I got a small bowl of granulated sugar and handed it to him through the door. The next morning when retelling the story to a friend I realized he was looking for a different kind of sugar. He brought the bowl back a week or so later, again after the lights were out. I told him to leave it at the door.
It's been several years since this happened and it still makes me laugh. I'm sure he thinks I'm stupid and I was, for giving him the dish full. He and his friends have since left and moved on.
