The Capital 10k was my first race a year ago after beginning with the training team. This year it was the first race since the 3M Half Marathon. My goal was simply to beat last year's time and I did by about 8 or 9 minutes. I was also hoping to be able to run the entire course. During the training runs for the 3M 6 miles seemed like a breeze. I was not able to accomplish this goal. My running has been off since the half marathon and have not been able to put my finger on why.
The race was a lot of fun. The weather was better than last year. Last year it was humid and raining. This year the weathers was in the 50's. We were afraid we would have wind out of the north of 10 mph, but they subsided, thank goodness!
I did not see as many costumes this year as last year. Last year there was a man dressed as the Frost Building. Maybe that means I'm getting faster than the costumed folks.
