Ice Storm 2007

We recently had a cold front. Cold front puts it to nicely. We had ice and this is an area that seldom sees ice. Although my first week in the trailer we had really cold weather, this was the first ice storm. I spent a full two days locked up in the trailer. The ice was so thick it was too dangerous to leave the trailer. The one time I ventured to take a walk through the parking lot I almost slid on my arse down the hill, small hill. I loved the quiet and the solitude. I loved having no TV, no Internet and just wrapping up with a good book. That is until late in the storm and I finished my book. Only then did I get a bit stir crazy but still didn't feel like answering the phone. I did venture to work on Wednesday and the drive was frightening. Folks here don't know how to drive on ice, myself included! I did develop a small leak. I've been waiting for the ice to thaw when it's a bit safer for me to climb on the tongue of the trailer for further inspection. Even then, I'm not certain what I'm looking for.

With School starting this week there comes an accumulation of paper. One of the things I have learned about the trailer lifestyle is not all paper (toilet paper that is) is the same. No need to buy specialty RV toilet paper which costs more money, the purpose of RV life is to save money! One test is to put two sheets of paper in a glass of water and shake vigorously. How the paper responds to this will demonstrate how it will respond in the tank. The other is to put one sheet in a glass of water and then attempt to poke your finger through it. If it goes through it's good and if not don't use it. Inspite of all my free time I have yet to attempt either test with my TP. Brings back memories of toilet papering houses!

Stay warm and stay safe
