The trailer park is full of hurting people. Just this week I met a man who lost his job with the park after 5 years because he could not keep up with technology, several neighbors are unemployed and several are fleeing law enforcement. This week I met several who are separated and in various stages of getting a divorce, one of those has an infant and shared her husband is an addict. I met another whose adult son is stealing her psychotropic meds. This week law enforcement was called because neighbors were fighting.
In this small community there are people deep in their addictions, going through a divorce and dealing with the affects of aging. I meet them as I walk through the park, going to the pool, doing laundry and getting the mail. Their pain is so deep they need someone to talk to, someone who will listen.
Why is the RV lifestyle so suitable? The RV is easily moved. When law enforcement finds out where they live they can pick up and move easily. When they find a new lover they can put the RV in storage.
