The trailer is old, it was built in 1989. My mini-blinds are metal and some parts of them have rusted. Some of them have warped over the years and no longer offer privacy and security. This week I decided replacing the mini-blinds would be my household project. I was going to replace the two worst blinds. Over the blind's hardware and over the curtains is a piece of wood structure. I guess it's a valance, but I thought valances were part of the curtains and were made of cloth. But regardless, this structure prevented me from getting to the blind. I struggled for a good while on unscrewing the screws. Come to find out, several of the screws rusted. I looked on line and learned, or so thought, that the way to loosen a rusted screw is to spray it with WD40 and wait a few minutes for the lubricant to soak in. I still could not get the screw to loosen. I gave up and tore up the valance. It was covered in the same fabric the curtains are made up and honestly the color is not my color. It was fashionable in 1985! I chased down a blind to replace the old one. It's 51 inches and I thought I'd be frugal and start at Target, but they didn't have anything longer than 35 inches. It was off to Home Depot, second time today. When I got back to the trailer I took the old one off and threw it out. The new one does not fit in the old hardware, wouldn't you know it!! I don't have it in me to replace the hardware today.
Why is it that when you think something will take 1 hour it takes so much more!! Everything I have set out to do today turned out like that. I went shopping for a new shovel for the garden. I started at a local pawn shop. They were over priced. Since they were busy and it was Saturday I didn't feel like negotionating. I bought one at Home Depot.
While I was at Target looking for the miniblind they didn't carry I went shopping for my sister's baby shower. Granted the shower was today, but I was not able to go. I have the box packed and hopefully will get it in the mail on Monday. The box takes up my entire dining room table!! For now I have no where to eat or study! All the more reason to visit the guys at my new favorite local coffeehouse/pub!!
