Thanksgiving Travels
For a year I have hoped and planned on going to visit family in New Orleans at Thanksgiving. I set out and had a great time. I did not take my trailer, but it was obvious many others did. I easily fall asleep behind the wheel, regardless of the music on the radio so I come up with goofy games to play in the hopes it will help keep me awake. This time instead of finding the alphabet I counted RV's. On my trip to NOLA I counted something like 50 RV's. I spent Wednesday night in Houston and got up and started the last leg of my trip on Thursday morning. On my return trip, I did it in one day and counted well over 100 RV's!! That's a lot of RV's on the highway. This time a major Interstate through LA was closed so I took a more scenic back road. I saw one aspect of the poverty in LA and was blown away. I took this trip at the conclusion of the class where we had been looking at and learning about racial and class discrimination. This Thanksgiving trip to NOLA could not have been more timely in that respect. Happy trails.... Where did you spend Thanksgiving and how did you get there?
